Frost Heaves bitten by Sharks

Barre, VT - The Vermont Frost Heaves were defeated tonight by the Rochester Razorsharks by a score of 109 - 97.  The loss puts the Frost Heaves record at 11 - 8 on the season and snaps their 7 game winning streak.  The loss also locks the Frost Heaves in to the fourth and final playoff spot.

The game started sluggish by both teams and the first quarter ended with Vermont holding a 26 - 19 lead.  Rochester got hot from behind the 3 point arc in the second quarter dropping in four bombs in a row to get right back in to the game.  Rochester took the lead at 33 - 32 with about 8 minutes left in the half and never lost the lead the rest of the game.

Vermont managed to tie the game at 82 to end the third quarter, but Rochester dug in and quickly went back up by 12 to start the fourth quarter and at one point held a 19 point lead over the Heaves. 

Vermont placed 6 players in double figures led by Jared Carter with 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Marshall Brown added 16 points followed by Dwuan Rice with 14 points.  Ross Demasi had 14 points and Al Stewart and Benson Callier each put in 10.

Jerice Crouch led Rochester with 21 points followed by Glen Dandridge with 20 points and Donielle Davis with 17.  Rochester shot 45% from beyond the 3 point arc and Vermont managed a measly 18% from beyond the arc.

Vermont gets right back at it tomorrow night in Burlington when they take on the Quebec Kebs at Memorial Auditorium in their final regular season game.  Tipoff is at 7:05 and the doors open at 6:00 p.m.
